Single Adults in the Lord Together (SALT)

Purpose

Singles face unique problems and challenges spiritually, personally, and professionally in the workplace, the community and the church.

Recognizing the need for a place for singles in the church, SALT provides spiritual enrichment, fellowship and activities for singles of all ages.

Membership

The SALT group welcomes all single adults regardless of age. We have a group for all single adults from ages 18 to 118.

Meetings

A weekly Sunday School class is held in Classroom 101 downstairs off the welcome center.

Activities

  • On the first Sunday of each month, we meet in the Narthex after 11:15 a.m. service to carpool or caravan to a selected local restaurant - all are welcome to attend.
  • We meet for six-week evening sessions in a member's home for Bible study, discussion and fellowship.
  • Members of SALT enjoy retreats to Montreat, Myrtle Beach, Charleston and Emerald Isle. These who attend return with a spiritual renewal and strengthened friendships in the Christian Singles community.
  • Trips to baseball games, the Zoo, museums, concerts, and dinner/movie nights
  • Potlucks
  • Collection of food supplies and Bibles as well as sponsoring "Holy Ghost Weenie Roasts" for the children at Agape School, a Christian boarding and day school for inner-city children in Durham, are just part of our outreach activities
