Dear Friends,

In 2009 we are going to have some wonderful opportunities to grow deep in our faith and in our relationships with God and each other. In mid-January I’ll be preaching a series of sermons I’m calling “Facebook.” Many of you know that “Facebook” is a popular internet relational tool. The idea is that you can post information about yourself and read information about others that you know and befriend. You can use it to send messages to others. You can use it to find people that you have perhaps lost contact with (as long as they are also on Facebook). You can view pictures that others post or share pictures that you have taken with others.

The sermons I preach will focus on various aspects of “Facebook” which apply to how we relate with God. “Facebook” is being used for illustrative purposes only. I assure you that in order to understand the sermons you don’t have to know anything about “Facebook.”

In addition to the sermons I hope you will participate in a small group during January and February. These small groups will follow a curriculum that has been produced by our Small Groups Ministry Team that will build on the same texts and topics as the sermons. That will get us started in January and then in February we have invited Dr. Ron Rand to return to Triangle for a weekend of faith building. It has been a number of years since Ron has been with us and I am excited about the energy and spiritual depth that Ron will bring to this weekend experience. Through the weekend Ron will be meeting with various groups in the congregation from “Seasoned Saints” (his term) to our young people. He will also preach at both services on that weekend and will meet with out leadership team. Mark the weekend of February 20-22 as a “must be at Triangle weekend.”

Then in March we will take a “Walk Thru the Bible.” On March 20 and 21 we have invited this popular Old Testament overview ministry to be at Triangle. On Friday evening and Saturday morning you will learn more about the Old Testament than you ever dreamed possible in such a short period of time. In just a few hours you will have a good grasp of the content and flow of the Old Testament Scriptures. You are not going to want to miss this spiritual growth experience.

In April we will have our meaningful Maundy Thursday service as well as the celebration of Easter with a sunrise service and our regular worship services at 8:45 and 11:15 am.

As you can see the first quarter of 2009 will be an exciting time of growing deep in our faith. Who knows what the rest of the year will bring? Mark your calendar now and make a commitment to be a part of these special opportunities to grow in your faith and relationships with God and others.
