central tenets of the Christian faith. Join us every other month,
on the second Tuesday, year 'round, 7pm in the TPC Media Center.

Public Library. If you have a book to suggest, please E mail the

The TPC BOOK CLUB
announces its next two bimonthly selections so that interested readers
may have adequate time to secure and read copies from Durham Public,
TPC Media Center or other sources.
May 13, we discuss The Hiding Place, the riveting
true story of Corrie ten Boom, a middle-aged Dutch watchmaker who out
of her profound faith courageously resisted the Nazi invasion and
Jewish purge of Holland, survived Hitler's death camps, and became one
of the most significant Christian evangelists of the 20th
century. A musem near Amsterdam exhibits her life story and the
devastation of the Nazi occupation in Europe. Corrie's story was
eventually made into a film.
July 8, you're invited
to discuss Circle of Grace, by Penelope Stokes.
In this tale of truth, loss, friendship and redemption, four
college classmates pledge to keep in touch over the years through a
journal, passed around by mail for each woman to update the others on
how her life unfolds. Most of the women can't resist embellishing their
accomplishments or brushing aside their failures, so the entries in the
circle journal turn out to be largely charades - all of which collapse
when at last one of the group (who lives in the Asheville, NC, area)
provokes a reunion and the truth of each of the women's lives is
revealed and shared.
